Everton Dixie Dean Profile Teletext Placemat



    William Ralph 'Dixie' Dean is undeniably the greatest Everton player of all-time scoring 383 goals for the Blues in 433 appearances. Signed from Tranmere Rovers for £3,000 in 1925, the achievement for which he is best remembered is the record of scoring 60 League goals in a single season, set in 1927-28. He also led the Blues to glory in the 1933 FA Cup Final against Manchester City when shirt numbering was introduced, thus becoming Everton's first Number 9.
